Buyable Hygienator, Harvester, and Miner (with reasonable prices)

I figure these are reasonable enough devices that our sims could order one online or something, right?

Hygienator: Misc Electronics, cost 10,000 (Since it's basically just a fancy air conditioning sytstem?)
Harvester: Hobbies/Skills, cost 50,000 (Since it's more of a bonus for being a good gardener)
Miner: Misc Vehicles, cost 80,000 (Since you'll make that much in a day with the damn thing)

Requires Ambitions, obviously.

  1. or we could just type in buydebug and get them free...

  2. the point is pretty clearly to make it so that there is an alternative to spending forever inventing them or cheating.

  3. Cool. I like being able to buy things normally, rather than just using the BuyDebug cheat.

Have you had a chance to see if your mods need updating or not yet? I have my game installed, but I haven't played yet since I had some computer issues and since I reinstalled XP I've been trying to find out which mods have been updated and which ones don't need to be.

  4. Hate saying this.. but one problem with this mod.. is that.. your reasonable prices quickly become unreasonable once your inventor is making these items quickly themselves and selling them as soon as they create them, or at the consignment shop.

Then you have a gazillionaire faster than you blink. Ditto with fruit mods that make life fruit and flamefruit super expensive. Sure, sounds like a great idea, because buying them at the store can be considered to be cheating, but, selling them for those outrageous prices makes money too quickly, and if you happen to have a bunch of those plants on your property (say you have two saves, one needs to buy the fruit the other gardens) your taxes will skyrocket because of the value of those plants.

  5. This does NOTHING but add htem to the catalog. They are not worth more than they were before. You cannot sell invented harvesters/etc for more money, I am pretty sure.

  6. Have you tested that? :/ .. The person who did a similar thing with fruits obviously hadn't. Usually 'sell right away' and 'buy' prices are about equal.

  7. It's not a replacement object, so I dont think that would happen. Usually people unlock things improperly by checking a catalog, but forgetting to uncheck "debug" or make sure it isnt the same object. But I have not tested, no.
